Lebanese President Jozef Emile Aoun spoke about the complexity of the prisoners' issue in the Rome negotiations with Israel, emphasizing the need to continue despite Lebanon lacking an official list of names. Lebanon has called on Israel to provide its list, with a focus on distinguishing between civilians and military personnel detained. Aoun also reaffirmed that the Lebanese army is the sole guarantor of Lebanon's sovereignty, reiterating that illegal weapons have no legitimacy outside the state's authority and that the homeland must be protected through the national army, which represents all Lebanese citizens.
