Reports indicate that Real Madrid is close to completing a deal to acquire Leipzig midfielder star Yann Diomande for €140 million, including €15 million in performance-related bonuses. This would be the highest transfer in the club's history, surpassing even the deals of Jude Bellingham and Eden Hazard. The 19-year-old player is currently undergoing medical examinations in Spain ahead of signing the final contracts, after lengthy negotiations. He is considered one of the top talents in the German Bundesliga, having scored 12 goals and contributed to 8 others last season, and he also represented Ivory Coast at the 2022 World Cup. Madrid's interest in Diomande grew after he joined Leipzig from Leganés, amid efforts from French club Paris Saint-Germain to obstruct the deal. However, the player has always dreamed of joining Los Blancos, prompting the Spanish club to make a significant investment.
