Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Israel's attacks targeting Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity constitute one of the greatest threats to Syria's stability. He called on the international community to exert pressure on Israel and to respect the 1974 Separation of Forces Agreement. He emphasized that maintaining Syria's security and stability is a shared responsibility among regional countries. Fidan pointed out that Israel's ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip reflect Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's lack of desire for peace, as assaults and aggressive activities have increased in the West Bank and Jerusalem, leading to hundreds of martyrs and injuries, as well as significant destruction of infrastructure in Gaza. Since October 2023, Israel has caused more than 73,000 martyrs and 174,000 wounded. Fidan also warned against Israel's attempt to annex the West Bank, while Turkey continues to work on strengthening cooperation with Syria and pursuing peace, considering Israel the biggest obstacle to achieving it.
