The third round of Lebanese-Israeli negotiations in Rome focused on achieving a ceasefire and consolidating Israeli withdrawals from southern areas. The discussions placed particular emphasis on the issue of prisoners, which faces difficulties due to the absence of an official list of names. The talks also addressed border and political issues, with an attempt to involve the Red Cross to ensure humanitarian standards. Additionally, model areas, especially Zotra in the east, were discussed in an effort to identify and verify withdrawal zones, with the involvement of countries like the United States and Italy excluded from the verification process. Meanwhile, the Lebanese government continues its efforts to rebuild the south, promote returnees, and strengthen civil peace through projects aimed at improving transportation and supporting stability in the southern regions.
