A fire broke out in the forests of Jebel Lannaq northeast of Tunisia since Wednesday evening. The Tunisian army is participating with two helicopters in efforts to extinguish it, aiming to prevent its spread to residential areas. The fires were concentrated in the Sidi Abid area in Jendouba Governorate before spreading to the Kreb district in Siliana Governorate. Last summer, over 12,000 hectares of forests were destroyed, with record temperatures reaching 50 degrees Celsius. Weather fluctuations and strong winds have made the firefighting efforts more difficult.
