Iraqi security reports accused yesterday the Prime Minister, Ali Zaydi, of issuing instructions to redeploy the Counter-Terrorism Service and to raise the combat readiness level of security forces, aimed at confronting armed factions. These measures came after secret meetings among senior officials and included training exercises to support the high readiness of the troops. This escalation is seen as a response to threats from armed factions, especially following the announcement by the "State Administration" coalition that any armed activity after the September 30, 2026 deadline will be punished under the Anti-Terrorism Law. This development reflects an escalation in Iraq's security and political situation.
