The article discusses former U.S. President Donald Trump's efforts to restrict birthright citizenship in the United States. Following a Supreme Court decision that confirmed children born on American soil are automatically considered citizens, Trump issued two executive orders aimed at tightening immigration laws and reducing the scope of "birth tourism" exemptions. One of these orders targets children belonging to enemies of the state and terrorist organizations, while the other focuses on limiting the manifestations of "birth tourism," despite existing laws that already prevent granting visas for the purpose of obtaining citizenship through birth. The Supreme Court upheld the now-established right to citizenship by birth, affirming that the 14th Amendment guarantees this right, although some justices objected, arguing that current decisions are opening the door wider to the phenomenon of "birth tourism."
