The Chinese Ministry of Justice affirmed that the European Union’s investigation into the Chinese e-commerce company "JD.com" is illegal, as it addresses jurisdiction outside of its territorial boundaries and conflicts with Chinese laws. This statement was issued in response to the EU’s investigation in May concerning a potential acquisition by the company of a German retail firm, as well as a previous report about an investigation by the EU into the Chinese company Nuctech, which the Chinese Ministry of Justice considered to infringe upon China's judicial sovereignty and violate local laws.
