Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, confirmed that she has no knowledge of any recent communication between her brother and U.S. President Donald Trump, despite his claim last week of having had a conversation between them. She pointed out that her relationship with Trump is good and that she holds positive feelings toward him, but she did not confirm any official communication having taken place. This comes at a time when the Trump administration announced a reduction in joint military exercises with South Korea from ten to five days, a move that drew criticism from Pyongyang, which considered that decreasing the drills does not change their provocative nature. Meanwhile, South Korea expressed support for the decision and its efforts to strengthen its defensive capabilities.
