Syria issued an official stance in response to the Israeli airstrike on Abu al-Zuhur Airport in Idlib, confirming that there was no intention to establish a Turkish military base at the airport or to deploy permanent Turkish forces there. The Syrian Foreign Minister affirmed that the airport was nearly vacant at the time of the attack and that operations there were still in the process of rehabilitation, with no Turkish military mobilization justifying the strike. Syria also considered the Israeli attack unjustified and a blatant violation of its sovereignty. Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu insisted that the strike was aimed at preventing Turkey from deploying military forces south of Aleppo, viewing such a move as a threat to regional security. These developments come amid escalating tensions between Israel and Syria, with international rejection and official Syrian condemnation of the aggression.
