Photographer Noor Elmasry depicts the features of Cairo, a city that is changing rapidly. He focuses on documenting the old streets and buildings that bear the marks of time and the city's historical life. His visual language relies on capturing spontaneous details and moments that reflect the soul of the place, aiming to preserve a part of the city's visual memory. He also emphasizes the importance of photography in documenting urban transformations that lead to the disappearance of some landmarks. Through his images, he seeks to preserve the city’s history, with a particular focus on old areas like Cairo Qasr El Nile, Maadi, and the loss of identity in modern architecture. Ultimately, photography has become for him a means to see and understand reality, and to establish a personal connection with the city’s changing features.
