A report from a United Nations mission warned that the recruitment of foreign fighters and external support are exacerbating the conflict in Sudan and fueling violence against civilians. The report revealed the existence of a cross-border network involving elements from countries such as Colombia, Chad, and Libya, which provides military and logistical support to the Rapid Support Forces, including training, transfer of weapons, and personnel. The mission also documented serious human rights violations and international crimes committed by both sides, resulting in the deaths of over 200,000 people and the displacement of more than 12 million Sudanese, making it the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. The report stated that the use of drones in operations constitutes crimes that amount to war crimes and called for measures to protect civilians and address ongoing external support.
