The Germans announced the allocation of an additional 250 million euros to repair and improve Ukraine's energy infrastructure, aiming to ensure energy and heating supplies for the population despite ongoing Russian attacks. This funding will be provided through the German Reconstruction Loan Bank (KfW) in partnership with the German private sector, with donations from companies contributing to the energy supply restoration for 1.4 million people so far. In another development, Russia announced the closure of the Goethe Institute in the country in response to Germany's decision to close the Russian House in Berlin, considering it a reflection of escalating tensions between the two countries amid the war in Ukraine.
