The city of Taiz in Yemen experienced a fierce escalation of violence between government forces and the Houthi group, resulting in the death of 28 people and injuries to dozens more. Additionally, 917 families have been displaced from the conflict zones. The clashes, which lasted from dawn until evening, led to the killing of 13 military personnel from the government forces, including officers, and more than 20 were injured. Around 15 Houthis were killed, and dozens more were wounded. The Houthis launched a violent attack following artillery shelling on government positions, successfully taking control of several areas. They also attempted to reach the main road connecting Taiz to the Western Coast. This escalation is considered one of the most significant confrontations in Taiz in recent years, amidst the ongoing war between the government and the Houthis that began in 2014, with military intervention by a Saudi-led coalition starting in 2015.
