The death toll from the passenger ferry accident off the northern coast of Cyprus has risen to 10 after authorities discovered two additional bodies, while 18 people remain missing. The incident occurred on Sunday after the ferry departed from the port of Kyrenia, resulting in the rescue of 239 individuals. Ten people died, all of whom were Turks, and the captain and eight others have been detained for investigation. Authorities warn that the death toll may increase further. Investigations are focusing on the possibility that the disaster might have been avoided if the captain had reduced speed when the water ingress began.
