The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced the launch of the second batch of 32 pilot cities to promote innovation in the retail sector, aiming to develop a modern system that includes product availability, distribution, channels, and high-quality services. The focus is on smart facilities and sustainable development. This initiative is part of China's efforts to expand domestic demand and boost consumption, with cities such as Qinghuangdao and Wuxi included. The plan also reinforces commitments to reach retail sales of around 60 trillion yuan by 2030. The move underscores China’s dedication to modernizing the retail industry and activating economic growth linked to domestic consumption.
