The latest United Nations report focused on the escalation of conflict in Sudan, revealing that transnational entities are targeting the Rapid Support Forces through recruiting, training, and transferring foreign personnel, as well as facilitating the smuggling of weapons and military technology. The report confirmed that the Sudanese Armed Forces have used imported drones in operations that resulted in civilian casualties and the destruction of facilities, including the deployment of up to 2,000 military contractors from Colombia involved in operating the aircraft and weapons. It also noted that countries such as Colombia and the UAE have used crossing points in Chad and Somalia to facilitate support for the Rapid Support Forces, with their military capabilities expanding to conduct long-range attacks, leading to the death of hundreds of civilians. The UAE reaffirmed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and support for humanitarian aid, while emphasizing that it has not been involved in the conflict and remains committed to international sanctions laws.
