China is reflecting its efforts to strengthen the safety of the energy sector through the implementation of a revised regulation that includes new measures for monitoring and analyzing safety incidents in the electrical energy industry, as well as defining the responsibilities of network-connected entities. The regulation will come into effect in January 2027 and comprises 38 articles emphasizing hazard assessment, with criteria for classifying incidents based on network size and technical performance. These measures are part of the country's broader initiatives to reduce accidents and injuries in the energy sector, especially amid the transition to a new and advanced energy system. The focus remains on ensuring safety and security in light of challenges posed by expanding renewable energy projects and industrial development.
