Victims' families of the October protests in Iraq, which began in 2019, have filed legal complaints against statements made by Hadi al-Amiri, leader of the Badr Organization. In his remarks, he described the participation of armed factions in suppressing the protests as "Terror of October" (or "Tishreen sedition"). These actions come after the victims' families started gathering evidence to prove the killing or injury of their children during clashes with security forces, with the intention of presenting it before the courts. Al-Amiri has not responded to the criticisms of his statements, but a close associate of the "Coordination Framework" believed that his remarks were a defense of the factions' position during a sensitive moment.
