UAE celebrates International Philanthropy Day
Today, the UAE celebrates International Day of Philanthropy, focusing on the evolution of the concept of giving to include sustainable developmental solutions, rather than solely responding to urgent needs. The country has launched massive initiatives such as the "Life Limit" campaign, which aims to save 5 million children from hunger and has raised over 2.8 billion dirhams with the participation of more than 44,000 contributors. It has also emphasized investing in education through projects to build schools and support students, as well as adopting health initiatives like eradicating river blindness, benefiting more than 42 million people. Additionally, projects targeting water and infrastructure are being promoted to reduce dependence on emergency aid, with endowments serving as a sustainable permanent funding source. Data shows that the volume of projects in the first half of 2026 exceeded 353 million dirhams, a 15% increase compared to the previous year, highlighting the UAE’s continued extensive humanitarian aid domestically and internationally.
