Israel delays Lebanon talks despite US pressure
The article discusses U.S. pressures on Israel to move forward with peace negotiations with Lebanon, while Israeli military operations in the Tahrir Heights in southern Lebanon continue. These operations aim to solidify control over the area and destroy Hezbollah tunnels, but disagreements between the two sides and upcoming Israeli elections hinder progress in negotiations. Diplomatic efforts are focused on expanding Israel's withdrawal from southern regions, amid concerns about an escalation of Iranian activities against Israel—especially after Israeli military control over strategic areas. Both parties face difficulties in making progress due to differing commitments, but the international community, led by the United States, is working to bridge differences and achieve temporary stability ahead of the potential Israeli elections on October 27.
