US Open: Anisimova out early

American Amanda Anisimova, ranked tenth in the world and the runner-up in the 2025 US Open, was eliminated in the quarterfinals after losing to Austrian Anastasia Potapova, ranked 25th, with scores of 6-2 and 7-5. Anisimova faced tough competition in the previous rounds, struggling to overcome Austrian Lily Tager, and committed many unforced errors (46 errors) against Potapova, which led to her early exit from this year's final major tournament. Potapova will face in the next round the winner of the match between Mira Andreeva and Nikola Bartunekova.
