German authorities reported that they discovered 12 homemade explosive devices near high-voltage lines around two power stations in the eastern part of the country. The aim was to create an electrical contact and cause damage to the energy infrastructure. The devices did not cause any damage or disruptions to power supplies, and investigations are still ongoing to determine whether this incident is linked to similar acts of sabotage, some of which are attributed to Russia. These include an attempted drone attack on Leipzig/Halle Airport last August. There is growing concern about increasing attacks on energy infrastructure in Germany and NATO countries.
