Jakarta Airport Closes Due to Ash
Jakarta airports, including Soekarno-Hatta Airport, were temporarily closed due to the detection of volcanic ash resulting from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatoa, causing disruption to both international and domestic flights. Sixteen international flights were canceled, and seven others were delayed, affecting approximately 23,000 travelers. The closure lasted until 1:30 PM local time. Authorities are in contact with airlines to monitor volcanic activity and adjust flight schedules based on ash conditions.
