Passengers use tape to restrain unruly traveler
In an incident aboard an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Newark, a passenger exhibited aggressive behavior and offensive language. He was restrained by passengers using flex cuffs and tape after he began physically assaulting and insulting other passengers and crew, as well as threatening the safety of the flight. Retired officer Juan Mijia and two others responded quickly to gain control of the situation, deliberately avoiding placing tape over the man's mouth to ensure he could breathe properly. The situation was brought under control after the suspect resisted and bit one of the passengers, leading to his safe detention.
