The American aircraft carrier "Abraham Lincoln" departed from the Thai port after a five-day visit, concluding a long deployment that included operations in the Middle East, such as a naval blockade and combat operations during the Iran war. This marks one of the longest periods the carrier has spent on operations; it is a nuclear-powered vessel with around 5,000 personnel aboard, according to its captain, Captain Dan Keller, who expressed gratitude to the Thai people for their hospitality. The visit is part of the military cooperation between the United States and Thailand, the only regional partner under a treaty. Typically, naval deployments last between 6 to 9 months, but they can be extended during periods of conflict.
