Georginio Wijnaldum, the 35-year-old player, has transferred to Al-Ittihad Saudi Club on a free transfer after his contract with Al Ettifaq ended. Wijnaldum signed a one-year contract that will expire in the summer of 2027. The move comes as part of the club’s efforts to strengthen its midfield, especially after the challenge of signing a new winger following the departure of Mousa Deyb, who moved to Bayer Leverkusen. Despite unsuccessful attempts to sign other players such as Anis Haj Moussa and Renzo Duan, Al-Ittihad is hopeful to benefit from Wijnaldum’s experience, having previously played 101 matches and scored 38 goals. This addition is considered important for the team, despite opposition from fans who had hoped for a new winger signing.
