The protected natural areas in the Republic of Buryatia, Russia, have been closed due to an unprecedented increase in bear populations, as the animals have left their habitats and approached residential areas. This has led to restrictions on visits and the cancellation of previous permits. The authorities issued warnings, describing the phenomenon as an "abnormal situation," as efforts are underway to monitor the situation and prevent potential dangers, including the deployment of specialized teams to intensively monitor movement.
