Qatar suggests Gulf security plan
A spokesperson for the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the war with Iran has revealed that the Gulf countries cannot rely solely on strategic partnerships with the United States to ensure their security. He pointed out that having international forces and alliances with the U.S. are important, but insufficient, and that self-sufficiency in security is the only solution to achieve stability in the region. He emphasized the need for Gulf countries to adopt policies that focus on relying on their own capabilities to enhance their security, especially in light of Iran's hostile actions, notably ongoing attacks on Qatar despite its mediation between Tehran and Washington.
