Israeli arms deal worries US over Gaza and Lebanon
The article addresses the American disagreement over the sale of 2,000-pound bombs worth $2.8 billion to Israel, which include 40,000 highly destructive bombs. Democratic Congressman Gregory Meeks expressed his opposition to the deal, citing concerns about the potential misuse of these weapons in violation of international law and their possible impact on civilians in Gaza and Lebanon. Nevertheless, Meeks affirmed his commitment to Israel’s security in the face of regional threats but emphasized the importance of ensuring that the weapons are used responsibly and legally.
