The Ukrainian Ministry of Reconstruction, Infrastructure, and Transportation has confirmed that a Russian drone targeted a commercial vessel flying the Tanzanian flag in the Black Sea, resulting in the death of the ship's captain and injuries to three crew members. The attack occurred as the vessel was en route to a Ukrainian port, and the damage to the ship is still being assessed, with the vessel's name and crew nationalities not disclosed. The ministry pointed out that Russia continues to target ports and infrastructure in the Black Sea, threatening international navigation and global food security, and is awaiting an international response to enhance protection of civilian shipping.
