To mark the fourth anniversary of Mahsa Amini's death, her father, Amjad Amini, expressed his gratitude to the people for their solidarity with her cause. He emphasized that the entire Kurdish region has shown that avenues of frustration cannot be closed off from the hearts of the people. Protesters organized a general strike in Kurdistan amid economic pressures to reinforce solidarity with Mahsa Amini, who died while in custody of the morality police in Iran after refusing to comply with the hijab rule. Amnesty International called for an investigation into 87 Iranian officials involved in crimes against humanity during the suppression of protests in 2022, during which acts of killing, torture, forced disappearance, and rape were committed, based on investigations that spanned several years.
