Newsweek's report highlights that the American and Israeli efforts against Iran, despite military strikes and the killing of officials, have not led to the collapse of the Iranian regime as Washington had expected. In contrast, the death of Mahsa Amini in 2022 sparked a widespread protest movement that had a greater impact on Iranian society. Large demonstrations took place across various provinces and universities, resulting in the deaths of more than 200 people according to Iranian media and 500 according to external monitors, alongside widespread arrests. Despite intensified security measures, the women's movement "Women, Life, Freedom" strengthened national feelings and undermined opposition groups. Social restrictions eased, and society became more resilient in its demands. The conflict caused deeper social changes than those imposed by military force, revealing that the national movement is stronger than external repression attempts.
