During the first eight months of 2026, China witnessed an investment of $75.68 billion in the railway sector, representing a 1.5% increase year-over-year. This contributed to the expansion of railway network construction projects, including the opening of the Hangzhou-Shuozhou-Taizhou high-speed line, which reduced travel time to 1 hour and 47 minutes. China plans to extend its railway network to 180,000 kilometers by 2030, including approximately 60,000 kilometers of high-speed rail. Additionally, there is a growing cooperation with Arab countries on railway projects, such as lines in Algeria and the United Arab Emirates.
