The fighting fronts in Kordofan have witnessed a simultaneous escalation of military activity, with the Sudanese army expanding its operations in several areas across the south and north of the state. It has regained control of important locations, including the Al-Qala area in North Kordofan, which links the region with Darfur and affects supply lines. In South Kordofan, the army took control of the Fershaya area in Dalling, while it is nearing the capture of the strategic town of Sadr, which has seen fierce battles and drone strikes. This escalation has led to the displacement of over 200,000 people in the past nine months, amid dwindling resources and relief services, as fighting continues and the humanitarian situation worsens.
