The Palestinian Foreign Ministry rejected the United States' extension of sanctions imposed on Palestinian officials and members of the Palestine Liberation Organization, considering that it hampers efforts to build trust, prepare for negotiations to achieve a two-state solution, and establish peace in the region. It affirmed that the Palestinian people are exercising their right to resort to international institutions such as the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, asserting that this does not threaten peace but rather protects Palestinian rights. Additionally, the Ministry called on the American administration to review the punitive measures and to reopen direct dialogue based on respecting the rights of the Palestinian people and United Nations resolutions, emphasizing that the current sanctions do not contribute to promoting peace or combating violence.
