Syrian Minister of Energy, Mohamed Bashir, announced the launch of new measures to ensure the availability of subsidized mazut at a price of 115 Syrian pounds, aiming to ease the burden on citizens. Different types of mazut will be offered at various prices and specifications depending on their use. He also indicated that the electrical refineries have been reactivated with a capacity of up to 35,000 barrels per day. This comes after oil derivative prices increased by between 25% and 40%, due to rising global costs and delays in the operation of Baniyas refinery, leading to widespread protests in eastern and northern regions of Syria. The ministry will provide mazut in different types, specifications, and prices to meet heating, transportation, and production needs, with the goal of maintaining continuous supplies and reducing the impact on citizens' livelihoods.
