Details on pilot’s nationality and attack in Fly Dubai flight
Reports have confirmed that Fly Dubai flight FZ107, heading to Israel, was subjected to an attack by a pilot who is suspected of trying to take control of the flight. The identity of the pilot and the motive behind the attack remain unclear. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the attacker is Omani by nationality and that he was attempting to interfere with the aircraft's systems, and that he used an axe in the attack—although this information has not been officially confirmed yet. The suspect has been detained and is currently under investigation. According to passenger statements, the attacker was quickly subdued by the passengers and crew, without prolonged clashes or severe violence. Despite the lack of diplomatic relations between Oman and Israel, it is believed that the attacker is being interrogated in Saudi Arabia, and Israel is sharing the investigation with international authorities amid uncertainty about how the pilot obtained authorization to fly to Israel.
