Middle East Diplomacy Shifts Toward Iran
Several Gulf capitals have witnessed an unprecedented diplomatic movement led by the United Arab Emirates aimed at coordinating the Gulf stance regarding the rapidly evolving regional developments, particularly in light of the war between Iran and the United States. The visits and meetings focused on security cooperation and coordination to confront potential threats from Iran, amid expectations of future conflicts or possible military escalation against Iran—especially following Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to Abu Dhabi and his meeting with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed, as well as subsequent meetings with Gulf and Omani leaders. These moves highlight the region’s desire to unite in facing security challenges, with efforts to strengthen regional relations and alliances, while Iran expresses concerns about escalation and warns of the repercussions of any security measures taken against it.
