28 nations urge UN action against unilateral sanctions
Twenty-eight countries, including China, Russia, Egypt, and Iran, called at a United Nations meeting for an end to unilateral coercive measures, considering them as interference in the internal affairs of states and as undermining the multilateral international system. The countries affirmed that these measures have caused global disruptions and chaos, placing a heavier burden on developing nations, exacerbating humanitarian and economic crises, and threatening fundamental human rights, including the right to life, health, and development. They urged Western countries to respond to international demands by lifting these measures immediately and unconditionally, and to work with the United Nations to assist the affected countries.
