Consumer Market in China Grows During Holidays
During the seven-day National Holiday, China experienced stability in consumer spending, accompanied by a notable increase in shopping and tourism activities. Traffic and revenue on 78 commercial streets rose by 3.4% and 5.3%, respectively, during the first three days. The program for exchanging old goods recorded sales worth 19.63 billion yuan (approximately $2.91 billion), involving 3.48 million consumers. Additionally, promotional campaigns and expanded services, such as improved train services and the removal of highway tolls, contributed to boosting tourism activity and spending. It is expected that over 2.13 billion passenger trips will be made, with record-breaking numbers in rail transportation, reflecting the strength of the economic activity during the holiday.
