Brazilian Election Heads to Runoff

The presidential elections are taking place in Brazil, where Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, son of former President Jair Bolsonaro, leads the first round after securing 56 million votes, surpassing the current President Lula da Silva, who received 53.7 million votes, with 99.8% of the votes counted. If Bolsonaro wins, it would mark a shift to the right, reflecting a political change in Latin America. Meanwhile, Lula has declared that Brazil's sovereignty is at stake, warning of external pressure. The second round will be held on October 25th, with expectations of intensified political tension as the contest between the candidates continues.
