Germany Faces Rising Antisemitism Since October 7
A German study reveals that the October 7, 2023 attack on Israel has brought about drastic changes for Jewish people in Germany. They now feel less secure, and feelings of anti-Semitism have intensified. Public Jewish life has diminished, and incidents of discrimination and social exclusion have increased in workplaces and society. Many expressed disappointment over the lack of empathy from the non-Jewish community and about changes in their social relationships. The study emphasizes the need for greater protection of the rights and status of Jews in the country.
