Travelers in Europe receive free handbags
The new amendment to the European Union's passenger rights will allow travelers to carry a personal handbag for free without extra charges, in addition to a small cabin bag weighing up to 7 kilograms with dimensions up to 40 × 30 × 15 cm. These rules will come into effect on October 23, 2027, and are seen as a step to enhance passenger rights and ticket price transparency, as baggage fees must be included in the ticket prices from the moment of booking. Airlines are also permitted to offer cheaper tickets to passengers who choose to travel without carry-on luggage.
