France faces its worst protests in decades
The article discusses the violent protests taking place in France, which are among the most intense in decades, with clashes escalating between students and protesters on one side and the police on the other, especially in front of high schools. These protests have resulted in approximately 488 arrests and injuries to 43 police and gendarmerie personnel, in addition to over 700 security forces being wounded. Many areas have experienced violent demonstrations, with protesters throwing projectiles and setting fires, while police have used tear gas to disperse the crowds. These protests stem from widespread public anger over educational issues, economic decline, and government pressures to reduce public debt, amid demands for urgent reforms in the education system and calls to stop the violence and excessive repression.
