Clashes in Blue Nile cause casualties
The Blue Nile State in Sudan has witnessed ongoing military escalation between the army and the Rapid Support Forces since the outbreak of conflict in April 2023, leading to numerous fatalities and a deterioration in security conditions. On October 7, 2026, the Rapid Support Forces targeted the city of Domaize with drones, resulting in the death of four people and injuring 12 others, including women and children. The housing of the Minister of Finance in Blue Nile State was also targeted, with no injuries reported among the families. The escalation has caused thousands of residents to flee; since the beginning of the events, approximately 5,525 individuals have been displaced from various villages, with waves of internal and external displacement continuing to increase. Sudan’s Sovereign Council Chairman Abdel Fattah al-Burhan continues to emphasize the option of military resolve, rejecting negotiations with the Rapid Support Forces, and working to liberate the country through intensive military operations, while the humanitarian and nationalist situation remains in ongoing decline.
