Potential Bahrain coach Félix Sánchez
Spanish coach Félix Sánchez is close to taking over the Bahrain national team, replacing Croatian Dragán Talić, after disappointing results and an early exit in the 2026 Gulf Cup. Sánchez possesses extensive experience with the Qatar national team, having won the 2014 Asian Youth Championship and the 2019 Asian Cup with the senior team. He also managed Al-Sadd SC and has a strong record of 70 matches with Qatar. It is believed that his long-standing experience in Gulf and Asian football, along with his previous successes, make him an excellent choice for developing long-term projects with Bahrain, especially in preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup in Saudi Arabia. An official announcement of his contract is expected in the coming days.
