Tunisian court dismisses Al-Khat dissolution suit
The Tunisian judiciary has decided not to hear the lawsuit seeking the dissolution of the "Al-Khatt" Association, which manages the investigative website "Inkyfada," after the Prime Minister’s Office withdrew its request for dissolution. Lawyer Ayoub El Ghlousi confirmed that the court has halted the proceedings and rejected the dissolution petition, despite the continued freezing of part of the association’s funds without explanation. The association was established in 2013 and has faced pressures including the freezing of its funding and the suspension of its activities, within a broader context of restrictions on freedoms since President Kais Saied seized power in 2021.
