Pakistan forces in Saudi Arabia performing defensive roles
Pakistan has announced the presence of its forces in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as part of a mutual defense agreement with Saudi Arabia and Turkey. It affirms that their mission is solely defensive against the escalation of tensions with the Iran-supported Houthis. A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry clarified that the Pakistani troops in Riyadh will not cross borders to attack the Houthis; instead, their focus is on protecting Saudi territory amid rising confrontations and growing concerns about the expansion of the conflict and its impact on regional security. This comes after last month’s attacks on King Khalid International Airport and a Saudi aircraft, which resulted in the death of three Saudis and injuries to others.
