China vows firm response to maritime provocations
The spokesperson for China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that China will respond decisively to any malicious provocations and will strongly defend its sovereignty over its territory as well as its maritime rights and interests. The remarks came in response to the incident involving a Philippine Coast Guard vessel's intrusion into waters near the Chinese Nansha Islands, affirming that China's actions were lawful and justified. Additionally, China, guided by humanitarian considerations, allowed for the evacuation of injured individuals from the Philippine side and facilitated their medical treatment, despite accusations and distortions of the facts by some Philippine officials. China regarded these claims as attempts at provocation and malicious propaganda campaigns.
